Can every sail type be saved and reopened?
Yes. Gennaker, Code 0, Genoa 135%, Working jib, High-aspect jib, Symmetric spinnaker, Mainsail, Storm jib, and Storm trisail files all reopen in the current app. See Files and offline use for the save and open workflow.
Where is my work stored? Is there autosave?
The design exists in the open browser tab until you save a JSON file to your device. There is no autosave, cloud design library, or server-side recovery copy. Save before closing, reloading, opening another file, or starting over.
Can I work offline?
Once the page has loaded, the shape, seam previews, 3-D, 2-D, Heatmaps, colour preview, Save, and Open actions run in the browser. Generating flat panels and every export need the backend. Files and offline use has the exact boundary.
Do I need an account?
Not for designing, saving, reopening, or generating panels. The current app requires passwordless email sign-in for exports. See Sign-in and account.
Which export should I use?
Start with the export overview. It compares each DXF, PDF, and SVG by task, scale, contents, and prerequisites, then links to one page per format.
Why is View Panels disabled even though the status says “panels: N”?
The current generated set was cleared. Shape and construction changes clear it, and the current app also clears it when switching among 3-D, 2-D, and Heatmaps. The old status text can remain visible. Choose Panels > Generate Panels again; Generate and inspect panels explains the full set of invalidation cases.
Why did the seam overlay disappear?
An edit that affects seam geometry clears the old overlay. Turn Show seams on again to calculate current curves. This preview is separate from generated flat panels; see Seams and broadseam.
Why is the Colours mode missing?
It appears only for the exact Tri-radial layout. Switch to Tri-radial to edit the palette. Panel colours covers the five modes and the current Cloth Layout DXF difference.
What do the “i” buttons do?
They open a short explanation beside the related control. Select the button again or click outside to close it. Escape closes the active popover or its containing dialog.
Does the mm/in switch change saved or exported measurements?
No. It changes the on-screen length display. Saved design values and exports remain in millimetres. See Units and glossary.
Where can I find keyboard and mouse controls?
Use Mouse and keyboard controls for the app-wide shortcuts and the 3-D, 2-D, dialog, and panel-viewer gestures. In the 2-D designer, press ? to open the current in-app shortcut overlay.
What should I do with an error banner?
Read it before dismissing it: closing the banner does not retry the failed operation. Troubleshooting groups the current save, load, preview, generation, sign-in, and export symptoms with recovery actions.
